The Jewish mystics, the revered old fathers, the Magi that were present at the birth of Christ. These were men who claimed to wield real power over nature and by extension the whole universe. One way in which this was accomplished was through their words. The Hebrew alphabet is a sort of talisman. Galaxies and constellations were what the mystics, who developed the language, based the alphabet on. One story in Jewish folklore that is steeped in the mystical tradition is the Golem, a seemingly lifeless automaton that through the messages the Magician writes for it, becomes sentient and acts of the will of the Magician,
