Poetry Class 1

arranged like a Zen garden,

with respect for space.

or like a skyscraper.

when there was nothing

just nine pillars

held together by silken

strands. silent forms

from the sea that claimed

the noxious wastes

for their home.

a war cry, chiefs thrown

into the fire. the char on

the bones tell the old man

who the gods have selected.

employed for both good

and evil. for justice, peace,

subjugation, liberation

and indoctrination.
